Judith Handley was born in Budapest in 1928, the daughter of Hugo and Erzsebet Eisler. She married Gabor Horwath (Handley) in 1947. They left Budapest in November 1956 and emigrated to Australia with their daughter Panka (Anna), arriving in Sydney in March 1957
