William Stephen Bishop was born on 2 July 1912 in Balmain, N.S.W. He enlisted in Marrickville, N.S.W. and served in the 2nd AIF.

Papers, being mainly letters from William Stephen Bishop to his sweetheart and then wife Mary whilst on active service. Includes Christmas cards, Easter cards and pressed plant matter.
