  Letter signed in Richard Orton's hand, dated Funchal Road off Madeira, advising that Cook has drawn bills on the Commissioners for the purchase of fresh beef, onions and water as supplies for the Endeavour, 17 Sept. 1768 (pp. 17-20)
  
  Letter signed in R.Orton's hand, dated Rio de Janiero, that Cook has drawn a bill for the purchase of provisions for the Endeavour, and commission is charged because the Vice Roy compelled him to employ an agent for the purchase, 30 Nov. 1768 (pp. 21-24)
