    Jackson was born in New Zealand in 1882, moved to Australia as a teenager. He had lessons at the Royal Art Society School in Sydney. He re-visited New Zealand on numerous occasions and studied art in both London and Paris. He had studios in North Sydney, Mosman and Seaforth.

    This work is a view of Sydney Harbour from Kurraba Point, Neutral Bay and depicts the beginnings of high-rise development in the suburb in the early 20th century.
