    A translation into modern German by Hans Finger of the certificate issued to Ludwig Leichhardt by the Friedrich-Wilhelm Gymnasium, Cottbus, 1831, is at MLMSS 6319; a translation into English of the first few sentences of this document is contained in Colin Roderick's book Leichhardt: the dauntless explorer, held in the Mitchell Library at Ref 1/919.4042092/8.
