    Emily Chambers born in Leeds, England in 1905 lived in Lucas Road, Burwood and worked at MLC Martin Place.
    She met Gordon Mailler Brown (foundation member of Victoria Ski Club. His father Edward Theodore Brown is the founder of Brownbuilt) at Kosciusko skiing and later travelled to Melbourne by ship with her sister Isabel to meet Gordon's family in 1930. They returned to Sydney by plane `Southern Sky' in January 1931. Gordon Brown and Emily Chambers married in 1932.

  • Scope and Content
    Includes ephemera (tickets, timetable, sick bag), a printed publication entitled`From Bullocks to Boeings' and letters relating to the ephemera material lent by Mrs O'Neill. Also includes photographs of her departure from Sydney by ship December 1930, the 1931 flight from Melbourne to Sydney and some photographs of the building of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and her house in Lucas Rd, Burwood.
