    Frederick William George Myers, a farrier of Hurstville, N.S.W., was born in 1896 in Hamilton, Newcastle. He enlisted with the 9th Field Coy Engineers aged 20, 23 Oct. 1916. He embarked from Sydney on R.M.S. Osterley, 10 Feb. 1917, trained at Parkhouse Camp in England, Apr. 1917 and served in France, June 1918-Mar. 1919. He returned to Australia on H.T. Themistocles, disembarking Aug. 1919.

    Frederick William Thornton, a butcher of Sydney, N.S.W., was the older brother of Amy Thornton, who later married Frederick Myers. He enlisted in the 11th Battalion aged 21, 7 July 1916 and embarked from Fremantle on Clan McGillivray, Sept. 1916. He died of meningitis at the 38th Casualty Clearing Station, France, 25 Feb. 1917
