  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Stanley Peck (1899-1986), usually known as Stan, was a prominent gardening personality in Sydney during the 1960s and 1970s, writing regular gardening columns in the ‘Sun-Herald’ newspaper, appearing on ABC radio and television and publishing two books, ‘Any questions?: answers 300 gardening problems’, 1970, and ‘600 gardening questions and answers’, 1974. He was a president of the Royal Horticultural Society of NSW, the Azalea and Camellia Society of NSW and the Chrysanthemum Society of NSW. As a keen sportsman he was active in cricket, football and as a boxing referee.
