    Julia Trubridge-Freebury (1923-2014) was a feminist and a prominent activist in the campaign for abortion law reform during the 1960s-1970s. She was secretary of the Abortion Law Reform Association from 1971-1975 where she organised a mass meeting at the Sydney Town Hall in 1972 with the guest speaker Germaine Greer. She joined the Women’s Electoral Lobby and Women’s Peace Movement as well as the Council for Civil Liberties. She was also involved with the Australian Democrats and campaigned for nuclear disarmament.

    This collection documents Julia Trubridge-Freebury's role as a prominent activist for women's rights, particularly with regard to abortion but also other causes including her work with the Women’s Electoral Lobby and Dying with Dignity. The collection comprises printed material (newscuttings, newsletters, journal articles, leaflets and flyers) and correspondence.
