  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    The Women's Reserve Ambulance (also known as the Green Cross Society) was attached to the National Motor Volunteers. The WRA was structured on military lines and members worked as ambulance drivers transporting soldiers from railway stations to hospitals, as night ambulance patrols for Zeppelin raids in connection with the D Division Metropolitan Police, transporting shells, delivering supplies, as orderlies in military hospitals, in Peel House and in canteens. Pte. Graham worked mainly at Peel House.
