  Item 2: Portrait of Jane Cape, with a girl and boy, ca. 1846-1848.
  1 daguerreotype, in pinchbeck frame with glass cover, inside embossed velvet lined leather case with two small hook hinges. 9.5 x 6.5 (image); 12 x 9.5 cm. (closed case). The date of the portrait indicates that the children are probably Maria (b.1841) and Alfred (b.1844).
