    Talks to Community Groups, 1988-1999.

These talks, each in typed format, cover the period from 1988 until 1999. They are arranged in the order in which they were given and provide details of the group to whom they were delivered a well as the date. Some were delivered to mark celebratory events such as the Bicentenary of European settlement in 1988. Others deal with a wide range of topics mostly linked to early colonial New South Wales, such as, the controversy over settlement, the differences of opinion concerning the character of the convicts, the early governors and so on. All were delivered at the invitation of the group concerned.

    Box 16

    Talks to Community Groups, 2000-2013.

Lectures on a wide range of topics covering the years 2000 to 2013, as well as, a bundle of lectures each relating to the history of Anglicanism mainly in Australia. A small handful, delivered to the Prayer Book Society are fairly specialised and relate to the Book of Common Prayer. Most, however, are linked by a desire to show how Anglicanism shaped the course of Australian history, thereby exploring a field that has been greatly neglected.

    Box 17

    Miscellaneous undated lectures.
Coming to terms with Australia: the reminiscences of an English-born Professor of Australian History by Brian H. Fletcher.
