  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Rev. Joseph King (1839-1923) served as a missionary for the London Missionary Society in Samoa from 1863 to 1872. For the next 16 years he served as a Congregational minister at Bendigo and South Melbourne. In 1889 he was appointed the London Missionary Society’s organising agent for Australasia, a position he held until his retirement in 1911.

    1. Handwritten journal containing notes about his missionary work and church matters in Australasia and the South Pacific and copies of correspondence. Red cover with many blank pages after the entries, ca 1890-1910
