  • General note

The Library holds an original conditional pardon for George Morris (MLDOC 3120). However it is dated 1 January 1831 and numbered 84 whereas this copy is dated 6 April 1833 and numbered 91. The wording of the two documents is otherwise identical and it would appear that the earlier pardon was incorrectly dated and when this was discovered a new one was issued with the correct date. At this or some later time the date of the earlier document was amended in pencil to 6 April 1833.
