  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    One of two Martin Sharp papercut collage designs for the Centenary of Australian Federation celebrations in 2001. One of the designs, Centenary of Federation - Sydney, featured on the front cover of The Sydney Morning Herald, January 1, 2001. The work was part of the private collection of Richard Neville and Julie Clarke Neville, long time friends and associates of Martin Sharp.

  • Scope and Content
    Paper collage featuring the Eureka flag, map of Australia, and the text of Bernard O'Dowd's 1901 poem 'Australia'. Signed "S." in red lettering along lower edge, right of center. The collage is composed from painted paper cuttings, predominantly red, yellow, blue and white.
