Ken Woolley designed the State Government Offices during his time as Design Architect in the New South Wales Government Architects Branch. The building was opened in 1964 and was popularly known as “The Black Stump”. It was demolished in 1997. - Scope and ContentArchitectural drawings for the State Office Block, located at 94 Phillip Street (Chifley Square), corner of Macquarie Street and Bent Streets, Sydney. The Index of Drawings lists 593 numbered drawings, of which 101 diazotypes (between Numbers 1-126) and 13 photocopies (between Numbers 365-415) are represented in this file. They include plans, sections, elevations and details, chiefly of the North Wing and Tower and the Premier’s Wing.
