  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Terence Fowler started work on Macquarie Street as a commercial artist in 1956, throughout his career he worked as a graphic designer and illustrator in Sydney. He took many photographs of Sydney streets throughout the 1970s and 1980s as he saw rapid developments and changes taking place.

The majority of these images were taken on Kodak Ektachrome transparency film and mounted on glass slides. Although Kodachrome is often considered a superior film due to its archival qualities and colour palette, Ektachrome processing and stability drastically improved since the 1970s, when Kodak reformulated their entire colour chemistry lineup.
