    1. Fanny, Mrs. Short, nee Hearson, born Ilfracombe, 1822. Fourth daughter of John Hearson [photographic copy of 1870s? photograph]
    Photographed in Sydney.
    She was small, slight, and dressed expensively. She is wearing a heavy god chain. She was very energetic, and, like her brother Charles, had a Devon accent. She loved to indulge in orgies of cooking, and always used a "spit" at the Cottage on Short's Wharf.
