Katherine Thomson is an award-winning Sydney-born playwright, script-writer and former actor who trained as a student at the Ensemble Studios in Sydney and began her acting career with the Australian Theatre for Young People in 1969. She was a founding member of Theatre South in Wollongong in 1980 and worked with the company until 1984.
Her first text for performance was A Change in the Weather, a two woman show she wrote for Theatre South in 1982.
The subject matter of Thomson's work is the experience of ordinary people, their social and working lives. Work, as in people's employment, is a primary interest.
