This series comprises 249 photographic albums mainly relating to social, business and private events with family, friends and associates, as well as holidays within Australia and overseas. It comprises approximately 100 albums relating to overseas travels in Europe, Pacific, Asia and some in Middle East and United Arab Emirates. The remainder of the albums relate to Fairfax family, NSW and Australia as well as some of the business activities of John Fairfax Limited. The album covers are labelled "New South Wales, Interstate, Office and Official Occasions, Retford Park & Southern Districts, Fairfax Family, Sydney, Lindsay Avenue & Sydney, Overseas". The original album numbers which appear on the covers are recorded in the Alphanumeric designations notes.
