Amalgamated Television Network (ATN 7), was the Sydney flagship television station licensed to Amalgamated Television Services, a subsidiary of John Fairfax Ltd. It began broadcasting in December 1956, and in 1963 joined with HSV-7 to form the Australian Television Network. In January 1975, James Oswald Fairfax was appointed as its Chairman. Prior to that, he had been a Director of John Fairfax Ltd from 1957.
