Louise Whelan is a visual artist with photomedia base, her interdisciplinary approach spans photomedia, projection, video art and installation. Much of her practice draws inspiration from environmental and humanitarian issues, and her interest in the aesthetic of memory. Louise is widely published and exhibited. She has more than 30 national and international awards to her name including Winner, Julia Margaret Cameron Award UK(Documentary and Editorial), Finalist, National Portrait Prize Australia (2012 and 2013, 2016) and The Head On Portrait Prize 2011.

George Schwarz was born in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1935. He attended art school in his late teens and began exhibiting art in 1957. After moving to Spain he met his future partner Charis McKittrick who was on her way from Australian to London to further her nursing training. Five years later they arrived in Sydney having ridden from Spain on a BMW motorbike. They began their new life, firstly in Kings Cross and later in Darlinghurst, where they made erotic films together and created extraordinary objects from a wide variety of material ranging from antique bones to statues of baby Jesus, that George also used in his surrealist photographs. For more than twenty years George was a respected lecturer at the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales, while Charis resumed her nursing career.
