The Cake Decorators' Guild of New South Wales was formed in Sydney in 1979. The body was formed to allow experienced decorators to share their knowledge with each other, and to educate new decorators. Membership of the guild extended throughout the state, with various regional branches formed, including the Cake Decorators' Guild of New South Wales, Sydney Branch which was formed in the early 1980s.
