    Dr Beryl Philp-Carmichael is a prominent Ngiyaampaa woman who has lived her life in remote far western NSW. She is a community leader recognised for her knowledge of culture and country.was born on the Menindee mission, New South Wales in 1935. At nearly seventy years of age she was asked to join the National Parks and Wildlife Advisory Council and the Western Lands Advisory Council, and she has had a strong involvement with the New South Wales Reconciliation Council.
    Her traditional name is Yungha-dhu.
