  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    The bronze statue of Reverend Dunmore Lang was unveiled at Wynyard Square on 26 January 1891. The statue was to commemorate Lang's achievements and contributions to Australia as Sydney's first Presbyterian minister and an educator.

    The foundation stone was laid in 1888 and the base was designed by architect James Barnett Jnr. The statue was completed by Giovanni Fontana in 1890.
