  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Daniel Boyd (1982-) is one of Australia’s most well-recognised and acclaimed contemporary Aboriginal artists. Boyd is a Kudjla/Gangalu man, born in Gimuy/Cairns, who now lives and works on Gadigal/Wangal Country, Sydney. Boyd studied art at the Australian National University’s School of Art & Design in Kamberri/Canberra, where he graduated in 2005. In his final year of art school, Boyd began the seminal No Beard series, which he exhibited in Polly Don’t Want No Cracker Neither, his first solo exhibition, at Mori Gallery, Sydney. In 2014, Boyd became the first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artist to be awarded the prestigious Bulgari Art Prize, administered by the Art Gallery of New South Wales, for Untitled (PW) 2014. Boyd’s work is held by numerous major collections including the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the National Gallery of Australia.

    Lyndal Irons is a Sydney-based photographer who documents aspects of Australian society with a focus on local people and places. Her work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions at the State Library of New South Wales, and the Australian Centre for Photography. She has also exhibited as part of the Elizabeth Street Gallery (2014); the Sydney Life Photographic Competition (2011, 2012); the National Portrait Prize (2017); the Bowness Prize at the Monash Gallery of Art (2015); and the Tweed Regional Gallery for the Olive Cotton Award for Portraiture (2015).
