Libby Hathorn is a Sydney based award-winning Australian author of literature for children and young adults.

The 'Best Cat, Est Cat' was commissioned by the State Library of New South Wales and is the result of a collaboration between Libby and the Library's Rosie Handley. It is the first picture book to be published by the Library and is about the Mitchell and State Reference Libraries and its collections.
