Walter and Janet Gardner, and James Albert and Violet Niedeck shot and purchased photographs while travelling throughout New South Wales during the 1960s. Both couples pursued an interest in infrastructure and mining.

Photographs taken at various locations within the Greater Sydney region and New South Wales, showing tourist attractions, mining and infrastructure sites.

Included are photographs taken of Sydney Harbour, Circular Quay and various places of interest at Katoomba, Bathurst, Port Macquarie and Broken Hill. Photographs show sites related to the Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme in the Burrinjuck State Park, and the Kosciuszko National Park, in addition to mining sites in Broken Hill.
