    Sarkis Manoukian was born in Syria. He completed secondary school in Armenia and Theological Studies in Milan, Italy. Manoukian migrated to Australia in 1991. He is an educator in the Armenian community and has worked in Sudan, Egypt, Italy, Lebanon, Armenia, Syria and Australia.

  • Scope and Content
    Sarkis Manoukian speaks about unrest in the middle east and explains his decision to migrate to Australia in 1991. He discusses in detail the culture shock he experienced within the Australian Armenian community, and the impacts of the interaction of Australian and Armenian cultures. Manoukian speaks about his sense of identity, his role as a parent to Armenian Australian children, and his aspirations for himself and his two adult children.
