Promotional photograph depicting Miss Australia contestants Maureen Duval, Joan Devine and Yvonne Stewart having tea at the Hotel Australia on Friday 8 September 1950 with American comedian Joe E. Brown and his toy mascot Harvey. Joe E. Brown was in Australia to play Elwood P. Dowd in the play 'Harvey'. The photograph shows the subjects at a table in the Hotel Australia Wintergarden with the Hotel’s signature china featuring a map of Australia. The hotel was demolished in 1972.
