E.E.S. Clayton was a soil conservationist and commissioner of the Conservation Authority of New South Wales.

Comprises newspaper clippings, the unpublished memoir written by E.E.S. Clayton titled ‘the Fight for the Snowy Mountains’ which includes notes, annotations and draft papers. Photographs and photo album from the Kosciusko State Park Trust (1944 – 1961), fact sheets, and travel brochure. Includes news sheets, correspondence, letters to the editor, an interview transcript, and ephemera relating to the presentation of the Sir William McKell Medal for services to soil conservation, including an address by the Governor-General, Sir Ninian Stephen. Also includes the annual report from the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Authority (1964), annual report from the Soil Conservation Service of New South Wales (1985) and the report on the Reconnaissance of the Mountainous Part of the River Murray Catchment in New South Wales.
