  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Constance Worth (1911-1943) was an Australian actress who also performed under the names Joy Howarth and Jocelyn Howarth. Born Enid Joy Howarth in Sydney, New South Wales, she first appeared on stage before debuting in the Australian Cinesound movie, The Squatter's Daughter (1933), directed by Ken G Hall. Cinesound put her under contract, and she was given a supporting role in The Silence of Dean Maitland (1934). In 1934 she signed with J. C. Williamson and toured nationally. In April 1936 she moved to Hollywood where she worked for Columbia, Universal and Paramount studios. Constance Worth died, aged 52, in Hollywood on 18 October 1963.
