  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Victoria Shaw (1935-1988) was born Jeanette Elphick in Sydney. She studied under June Dally-Watkins and enjoyed a successful modelling career. In 1953 she made her screen debut in Australia playing opposite Chips Rafferty in The Phantom Stockman. In 1955 she moved to Hollywood where she appeared in films and television shows. Shaw died in Sydney on 17 August 1988, aged 53.

    Captioned lower margin 'Copyright 1956 Columbia Pictures Corporation ... Printed in U.S.A.’
    Pasted to the reverse is a newspaper clipping with a cropped version of the image and stamps for 3 August 1956 and for March 1960.

    The reverse includes a stamp for June 1956, and related newspaper clipping titled 'Hope Helped'.
