  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Juno Gemes has spent 40 years documenting social change with particular focus on Indigenous Australians, culminating in her being one of ten photographers invited to document the National Apology in Canberra in 2008. She also has an ongoing interest in writers, was photographer-in-residence at the 2009 Sydney Writers Festival and is cofounder of Paperbark Press with her partner Robert Adamson.

    Indigenous MP and Wiradjuri woman, Linda Burney was re-elected to the seat of Barton in the 2022 Australian Federal Election and was appointed Minister for Indigenous Affairs becoming the first Indigenous woman in the role. Ms Burney was the first Aboriginal person
    to be elected to the NSW Parliament in 2003 and the first Aboriginal woman to serve in the Australian House of Representatives in 2016.
