A re-enactment voyage was undertaken in 1989 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the mutiny against William Bligh on HMAV Bounty. The journey was undertaken using a replica of the Bounty, which travelled from Tahiti to Tonga. The crew included descendants of William Bligh and Frederick Christian.
