172a. No.2. Australian camp at the Pyramids, Cairo [postcard]. Inscribed verso 'You can see from this how close to the Pyramids the Mena Camp was. Fancy a strong wind coming up here. It blows the sand till you cannot see 30 yards.'
172b. No.5. Australian cavalry parading in Cairo [postcard]. Inscribed verso 'The large building is the Continental Hotel. Numbers of the officers stay here and it is "some swank". This was taken just after the boys arrived in Egypt. It is such a common sight now, that no crowd turns out to see them.'
173a. No.26. Gurzireh Red Cros Hospital, Cairo [postcard]. Inscribed verso 'This is the Hospital where Nurse Woods was. There is a photo much the same as this amongst mine. It is a glorious place on the bank of the Nile, and the patients have real good times here.'

174a. No.43 Luna Park Red Cross Hospital, Heliopolis [postcard]. Inscribed verso 'Luna Park is like our White City - or was. Now it is a Hospital, and very well fitted out. I have been on the water chute and railway here, before they ever thought of making it into a Hospital'.
174b. No.46. General view of the aerodrome camp, Heliopolis [postcard]. Inscribed verso 'This is where I was camped last March 1915. We were there just about where the X is. The Transport are camped here now, instead of the Infantry, who are moved to Zeitoun'.
175a. No.24. Heliopolis Red Cross Hospital, Cairo [postcard]. Inscribed verso 'This shows what a magnificent, large building the Palace Hotel is - and it is not all in this picture. It is very accessible - the tram and train running right up to the gate'.
175b. No.25. Guezireh Red Cross Hospital, Cairo [postcard]. Inscribed verso 'This is another view of No. 2 Hospital, situated right on the bank of the Nile. The Nile is pretty muddy-looking, but is a pleasant change from the desert'.

176b. [Turkish prisoners of war]. Inscribed verso 'As you can see, these fellows are no "mugs" but big strong men, and they will give you an idea of the kind of men the boys were up against, on the Peninsular'.
