- Scope and ContentGeoffrey Chard recounts his early life in suburban Sydney in the period before and during World War II, his musical background in high school and Rockdale Opera, his experience at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, New South Wales National Opera Company and Elizabethan Trust Opera. Chard recalls the death of his first wife, soprano singer Marjorie Conley, and his resultant move to London. He talks about his involvement in the Australian Musical Association, performing at Australia House, his association with Malcolm Williamson and other expatriate musicians, the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trusts' inaugural Mozart opera season, his brief returns to Australia for starring roles and his teaching roles at the Royal Academy and later at the New South Wales Conservatorium.
