Donor is the son of William Robert Olson and the item has been held by the Olson family.

It shows Olson standing with a mop and bucket on the deck of a ship on the ocean with a speech bubble, "Shall I do the sharp end now, sir?" The drawing is captioned "On [crossed out] In the Poop", a reference to the poop deck of a ship and annotated, "Dear Bill .... Tropic isles, dusky belles, decks that pitch and roll son. We'd rather stay and work for Ez, we would --- in your Olson!", referencing Ezra Norton who owned the Daily Mirror in the 1950s.
