  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Philip Hedley CBE (1938-2024) was a leading UK theatre director, and artistic director of the Royal Theatre in Stratford East, London, 1979-2004. He spent several years living in Australia when he was young, arriving in Melbourne with his family, 1951, and then studying English at the University of Sydney, where he was active in the Sydney University Dramatic Society (SUDS), ca.1958-1960.
