    Rim Jezan, a former asylum seeker from Iran, describes her childhood as a Mandaean, a minority religious group in Iran, and the pressure to convert to Islam. She recounts her family's escape to Malaysia, their dealings with people smugglers, their boat journey to Australia and the time spent in a detention centre. She speaks of her family's struggle to settle into Australian society and her own studies and career.
