- Scope and ContentDr Beryl Philp-Carmichael (Yungha-dhu), speaks about her childhood on the Menindee Mission, New South Wales, swimming and pumping yabbies and growing ‘like one big family'. She speaks of the last of initiates on the mission, ‘the story tellers, the hunter gathers, the language people’. Beryl talks about waiting for the floods, present and past dust storms and describes the Menindee fish kill. Dr Philp-Carmichael also talks about the importance of storytelling in reinforcing the law, to our young people and tells a dreamtime story for which she is custodian.
