    PHOTOGRAPHS

    BOX 1
    1 album (92 photographs), green leather binding. George Sydney Jones' family photograph album with his signature on the front page. Contains family photographs, including George's father, Sir Philip Sydney Jones; Barncleuth", the home George built in 1910, now a heritage listed building at 17 The Crescent, Pennant Hills; and tourism photographs including Tasmania, Sydney region, Terrigal and Kiama.

    BOX 2
    1 album (210 photographs), approximately 1900 to 1945. Appears to have first belonged to George Sydney Jones and then added to and annotated by his youngest daughter Joan Sydney Jones. The album includes photographs of Sir Philip and his house "Llandillo" in Sydney; George and Isabelle Sydney Jones and their children, Joyce, Bronwen and Joan, at their home in Pennant Hills; John Rider Jones and Mrs Rider Jones (née Wolfe), many at his historic home of ‘Clifton’, Hunters Hill; holiday photos at Torys Hotel Kiama, the Rectory at Nowra, Cronulla beach, Terrigal Lake, Wentworth Falls, Teebah and around Cairns in Queensland, Fiji, Kosciuszko, Jenolan Caves, and Tasmania, including Port Arthur; 'Meriden' Anglican girls’ school in Strathfield around 1916-1929; the Taylors performing 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream' at the House in Pymble built by Joyce Sydney Jones' architect husband William David Howe Baxter; Bonnie Brae convalescent hospital at Wahroonga, including WWII servicemen patients and nurses, and Joan Sydney Jones, sometimes in her Red Cross uniform.

    24 loose photographs previously housed in the album including a copy print of David Jones, the merchant; Isabelle Sydney Jones and Hettee/Stella? Roxborough; Joan Sydney Jones leading the Lindfield Red Cross on a march through Sydney, approximately 1940; and Patricia, Gerald and Kathleen Baxter; approximately, 1940s-1970s. Also includes souvenir booklet featuring Coffs Harbour.

Contains pencil sketches and watercolours of places including Provence, Venice, London (1890), Rome (1890), and the Red Sea (1891); portraits of family members; architectural notes and sketches. 13 x 18 cm.
    3. 1 album (65 prints, sepia lithographs, engravings). Includes pencil inscription on front page, ‘P. Sydney Jones M.D. 1856 - afterwards his son G Sydney Jones’. Contains 10 tinted lithographs from the 2-part series of 12 lithographs entitled "Scenery in and around Sydney" produced by S.T. Gill in 1856, as well as many other British and European (mainly German and Belgian) scenes. 28 x 23 cm.
