  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Strathmore was a three-storey stone house built in 1857 for businessman and politician Alexander McArthur. George Wigram Allen and his family lived there from 1869 to 1881 when they moved across the road to Toxteth Park, the former home of George Allen.
