- Scope and ContentIn this interview Daphne Benaud speaks extensively of her childhood in England, her desire to work for the BBC and then her first job there in the 'Duplicating Department'. She was the first woman to be sent on a television course and the first woman allowed into the press box during a Test match because she worked as a personal assistant for several reporters. She also speaks of her marriage to Richie Benaud in 1967 and her ongoing work and travels with him until his death in 2015. This interview gives an insight into both Richie Benaud and the important partnership between him and Daphne. It gives a woman’s perception and observations of the history and development of men’s cricket during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
